I can’t wait to show you this little beauty from a recent newborn portrait session. I was first contacted several months ago by the baby’s aunt from way up in Alaska. She and her sisters wanted to give their youngest sister (and first time mama) a newborn portrait session as a baby gift. Because they all lived so far away they wanted to make sure those first precious days were captured beautifully, so the family could all share in the joy of a new baby. What an honor to be the one chosen to create those images. Here’s a few of my favorites from the session. Thanks for stopping by!
Oh sweet little Miriam. You might have shown up almost two weeks late, but you’ve been on the go ever since. But when you’re the youngest in a big and lively family you kind of have to be, don’t ya? 🙂 Happy First Birthday beautiful girl. I can’t wait to see you and your amazing family again soon!
The funny thing about kids is that they’re always growing. It seems like you turn around, and they’ve not only eaten all the good food in your fridge, but they’ve also out grown the shoes and super cute outfit you just bought for them.
Sure, that first twelve months are so dramatic with how much a baby changes, but even older siblings aren’t standing still. You may not notice it as much when you’re with them everyday, but looking back at photos taken just a few months ago show that, yes, your little boy is looking more like, well a boy, and not a baby. When did he stretch out? And maybe your little girl has already moved on from that sweet tiny smile she gave you first thing in the morning, and now she’s non stop on the go morning till night. Because that’s the thing, kids are always growing and changing, and it’s important to not forget even a moment of their childhood.
That why I always invite older siblings to take part in the photo shoots of my first year baby plans. There’s no higher calling for me than to document the miracle of childhood, and that special connection only siblings have.
Oh my! I have to admit, it doesn’t get much cuter than this little sweetheart. Not only was it a beautiful apple orchard in bloom, her grandpa’s place btw, but those pigtails just killed me with cuteness. Love this age to pieces.
Oh boy! Another baby plan graduate this month. I think they’re all trying to break my heart. How do they keep getting cuter each time I see them? Look at little Alik here. What a heartbreaker he’s been since day one. And such a whirlwind he’s become too. Thank goodness for my sports background from my journalism days because he was all boy and on the move, nonstop. Good thing my studio is child friendly too because he was into everything during his family’s ordering session yesterday. See that playroom full of fun toys? No thank you, I’ll have more fun with your TV remote, and any buttons I can find to push, and what’s this iPad sitting here unattended? I’ll take care of that for you! Lol, God bless toddlers. 🙂 He was pretty impressed by our chickens though, and I sent mom home with a dozen fresh farm eggs to enjoy later. You’re welcome to stop by the farm for some eggs too, but until then enjoy a few of his images from this past year.
