Welcome Baby Sophie Jo : Tri-Cities Newborn Photography

Hey folks! You’ve probably noticed I’ve been derelict with the blog posts lately. Besides photo shoots and the gazillion albums I’ve been designing, I’ve also been exercising my editorial alter ego.ย  Associated Press has me shooting the Washington high school basketball tournaments in my old stomping ground the Yakima SunDome. One set of championship games down, two more weeks to go! Boy I can’t tell you the last time I shot at 1600 ISO. Talk about ugly grain. But it’s good to know my trigger finger is still up to par. If I get a chance I’ll post you some fun stuff from it.

In the mean time, I just had to show you this cutie patootie from a recent newborn session. Little miss Sophie Jo was such a sweetheart, and such a good sleeper! We did the session at her grandmother’s house. I just loved using all her antiques for the photos. Let me tell you, this baby girl already has the whole family wrapped around her tiny little finger. What a lucky family!

Enjoy!

The “G” Family : Moses Lake Portrait Photographer

Stand back because this is going to be a ginormous photo post. I couldn’t narrow down my choices, so I figure I’ll just post a bunch.

What a fun, fun family I had the honor of photographing. They laughed and joked the entire time. The weather was just perfect too, especially for this time of year when it’s usually so overcast and dreary in Moses Lake. This session was special because I also got to photograph the two girl’s grandparents as well. What a sweet and tender relationship they share. Thanks so much for letting me be there to capture that.

Don’t forget about the new blog comment contest too! Ten different comments wins you a free 8×10. Get 20 comments and you’ll get upgraded to a 12×18 print. Nothing is cooler than free!

Welcome to Summerland Photography’s brand new blog! Isn’t it pretty? Take a few moments to peruse around and check out all the new features. You’ll find information pages, a contact form, RSS subscription, and portfolio galleries. You may also notice that all content from my old blog was brought over, except, sadly, for all the lovely comments you’ve left for me over the last few years. Well how about this, when ten different comments are left in the first two weeks of a portrait post, the client gets a FREE 8×10! If twenty comments are left in the first two weeks I’ll upgrade it to a FREE 12×18! And to make it fair for all my past clients, for the entire month of February, comments left for any post on this blog, no matter when it was photographed, will also qualify for the free print!

Stay tuned, a brand new photo post is coming soon! Don’t forget to subscribe to my RSS so you get all the latest and greatest.

Sandy Summers Russell - February 6, 2010 - 8:36 pm

Hey thanks! I’m excited to see what this year brings too. I think that’s my favorite part about being a photographer. When you wake up in the morning you never know what will have been created by the time you go to sleep. How cool is that!

Kimberly Fetrow - February 8, 2010 - 2:36 pm

Beautiful. Truly Beautiful. LOVE it. Wonderful images, patterns and colors.

Welcome Baby Camille : Prosser Newborn Photography

Sweet baby Camille you are just as pretty as your name. What a joy it was photographing this beautiful new family. I was also super excited to find out that Camille’s parents, Amy and Jon, are former Midwesterners like myself. They’re from Iowa and Kansas respectively while I’m from Nebraska. We got to compare bad weather stories from back home and lament about how dusty it is here in eastern Washington. But unlike this flatlander, they actually know how to ski. I’m so jealous!

Enjoy the photos! I think my favorite is the first one…no wait, maybe the last one; those bee stung lips are to die for! Oh I just can’t decide. I like them all!

Shaysta: Moses Lake Senior Photography

Meet ShaystaMoon. This lovely Moses Lake High School senior is just about one of the coolest teenagers Iโ€™ve met. Iโ€™m doing my typical chatting a mile a minute to get to know her while I take her senior pictures. โ€œSo Shaysta,โ€ I ask. โ€œWhat do you like to do for fun? Whatโ€™s your hobby?โ€ Here Iโ€™m expecting the typical sports or general hobby response. But no, not miss Shaysta.

โ€œI like to weld,โ€ she responds casually.

What!? Thatโ€™s just about the coolest response Iโ€™ve gotten to date. Thatโ€™s awesome! Sheโ€™s making a giant flying metal pig for her Senior Project. Now that, is something I have to see.

Anyway, this was just a quick photo shoot so sheโ€™d have a picture in time for the yearbook deadline. This spring we are going to tear it up for her full Summerland Photography Senior Session. Stay tuned. Maybe Iโ€™ll make her bring her welding gear. Now that would be something to see.
