Big blue skies, light as golden as the wheat fields, and an awesome couple make for a perfect Love Story Session. Ryan and Marlene wanted to do it at his family’s farm and ranch outside of Wilber, Wash. and they’ve been planning this session for months in order to time it just before wheat harvest. The tiny community is about an hour northeast of Moses Lake, but it feels like it’s on the top of the world. The views go on and on. I had so much fun as we traveled around their fields and pastures to get these gorgeous photos. The old home photographed belonged to Ryan’s family. You know what a sucker I am for old barns and homesteads. I’m definitely going to have to come back at a later time with my medium format camera.
Who needs trees when you have sagebrush? Seriously, I am awed by the beautiful landscape near where I live. I love to watch it change as the light rolls across its rugged features. What a beautiful place for a love story to unfold.
Meet Kristina and Jason. This lovely Zillah, Wash., couple was up for a road trip to the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge to photograph their engagement session. I was a little nervous when it started sprinkling in the morning. I was in luck, though. By late afternoon the storm clouds and the sun low in the sky emerged into light so sublime you could eat it with a spoon.
Check out the photo on the cliff. I was half kidding when I said get as close to the edge as possible. I should have known this adventuresome couple wasn’t afraid to climb out there. The photos turned out amazing! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding in a few short weeks.
I just love taking pictures during the fall. It's such a beautiful season. The beautiful colors. The beautiful grasses and leaves. Not to mention all the beautiful people. Take this gorgeous couple for example. We did Lisa and Ray's Love Story Session in the Potholes State Park near Othello, Wash. If you've never been there, you should really check it out. It stretches for 640 acres. Almost all the way between Othello and Moses Lake.
Ray and Lisa were such a fun couple. You'd never know how cold it was because they were smoking hot. They met, again, at their high school reunion. If that's not motivation to go to your class reunion, I don't know what is.
Marlene and Ryan are the perfect couple, and I have the pictures to prove it! Marlene is a veterinarian, and Ryan is a country boy, so their pets are very important to them. They wanted to kill two birds with one stone: pictures for their anniversary and their Christmas card. That reminds me, don't forget to order your Christmas cards. I've got a ton of new designs for this year.
