Happy New Year! I can't believe it is 2010! I feel like we should all be driving flying cars, don't you?

I want to thank all of my 2009 clients. You helped make last year a wildly successful one full of beautiful images and happy memories. I can't wait to see what this year holds!

Looking for that perfect family photo to give as a gift for the holidays? Want to impress everyone on your mailing list with your custom Summerland Christmas card? Well you better be as quick as one of Santa's reindeer because Summerland Photography's holiday deadline is fast approaching.

All portrait sessions must be photographed by December 5 in order to get your prints and cards in time for Christmas. We have only one weekend appointment and only a few weekday sessions available before then.

For ground delivery, all prints and cards must be ordered by Wednesday, December 16 in order to receive them in time for Christmas. Canvas gallery wrap orders must be received by December 7 for ground deliver. Express delivery charges will be applied for dates after these.

There were so many images from this session that I absolutely love! Talk about a gorgeous family. But, I had to decide on just one. For me it came down to this tender and quiet moment between Alaina and her brand new baby. I love the little smile she has and how he is just zonked out and snuggled so cutely against her. You can practically see little zzzzz’s coming from his mouth.

Danika has the cutest laugh in the world. It’s like a combination between a pixie and a chipmunk, and it’s absolutely contagious. I love this photo of her mom, Jacque, tickling her little toes because I think it really captures their fun but tender relationship.

I had a hard time deciding between photos for little Luka. There was another photo that showed off his beautiful long lashes (why is it the boys who always get those), but in the end, it came down to his mischievous sweet smile and cute little toes in this one. When I look at it just lights me up too, and I can’t help but smile back.

If anyone needs a cherub stand in, let me introduce you to Olivia. At ten days old she was already gorgeous. You can probably tell by looking at my photos that I’m a big fan of black and white images. But who can resist showing off these startling blue eyes. They contrast so beautifully with her rosy complexion that I just had to post her photo in color.

I adore the photos from little Sadie’s session. She is such a sweetheart, and, not to mention, she has a little girl’s wardrobe to die for. I took a lot of memorable shots of her, but this one is my favorite. She’s just learned to pull herself up, and the window was one of her favorite resting places. The recent rainy weather made the tree appear like an impressionist painting behind her. It couldn’t have turned out better if I had planned it. Life doesn’t imitate art. Life is art.

Lisa and Ray were a striking couple. They used this photo in their Christmas card this year, and I have to agree with their choice. It's one of my favorites too! I love the sweet moment against the rugged landscape.

I had a hard time picking my favorite photo from this session. I had so many unique and adorable photos of Kate by herself. In the end, for me it came down to the emotional interaction with her mom. Plus it had a really cool old tree in it!

     We’re so excited about 2009 because we will be offering even more products and services. You can now order beautiful canvas gallery wraps and standouts. For gallery wraps, images are printed on premier art canvas and wrapped around a 1.5" thick wooden stretcher frame. A standout display consists of a photographic print mounted on 1.5" thick, lightweight foam with a lightly textured black or smooth white trim around the edges. Both of these are ready to hang on the wall without a frame.

    But, if you’d like framing, we can take care of that too. More framing styles and matting options are available directly through our online proofing gallery. We will also be expanding our heirloom album line. We have everything from adorable 5x5 hinge-mounted albums, to gorgeous flush-mounted albums, and even a stunning ribbon-bound album. All of our albums are custom designed by us and made by hand by the best in the industry. No cheap plastic and cardboard allowed!
